أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ «خَيَّرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَرِيرَةَ فَاخْتَارَتْ نَفْسَهَا»
English Translation
Hadrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrated: "The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) gave Barirah the choice (regarding her marriage), and she chose herself (i.e., to separate from her husband)."
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے بریرہ کو (نکاح کے بارے میں) اختیار دیا تو انہوں نے اپنے آپ کو اختیار کیا (یعنی شوہر سے علیحدگی)۔
