أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ حَدَّثَنَا حِبَّانُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنَا عَوْفٌ عَنِ الْمُهَاجِرِ أَبِي مَخْلَدٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا ذَرٍّ أَيُّ قِيَامِ اللَّيْلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ أَبُو ذَرٍّ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَمَا سَأَلْتَنِي فَقَالَ «نِصْفُ اللَّيْلِ أَوْ جَوْفُ اللَّيْلِ» شَكَّ عَوْفٌ
English Translation
Abu Said al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'No servant fasts one day in the path of Allah except that Allah distances his face from the Fire by that day seventy years.'
