أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى بِالْمَوْصِلِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ إِذَا سَمِعَ النِّدَاءَ بِالصَّلَاةِ ذَهَبَ حَتَّى يَكُونَ مَكَانُ الرَّوْحَاءِ» قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الرَّوْحَاءِ فَقَالَ «هِيَ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ عَلَى سَبْعَةٍ وَثَلَاثِينَ مِيلاً»
English Translation
Ahmad ibn Ali ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us at Mosul. Abu Khaythamah narrated to us. Yazid ibn Harun informed us. Hammam informed us from Qatadah, from al-Hasan, from Hadrat Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be well pleased with him), from the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). He stated: «When the call to prayer is made, Satan flees while passing wind so that he does not hear the call. When the call is finished, he returns. When the second call is made, he flees. When the second call is finished, he returns. He comes and whispers between a man and his heart, saying: 'Remember such and such' — things he had not remembered — until the man does not know how much he has prayed.»
Urdu Translation
ہمیں احمد بن علی بن المثنیٰ نے موصل میں خبر دی، انہوں نے کہا: ہمیں ابو خیثمہ نے حدیث بیان کی، انہوں نے کہا: ہمیں یزید بن ہارون نے خبر دی، انہوں نے کہا: ہمیں ہمام نے قتادہ سے، انہوں نے حسن سے، انہوں نے حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے، انہوں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کی۔ آپ نے فرمایا: «جب نماز کے لیے اذان دی جاتی ہے تو شیطان ہوا خارج کرتا ہوا بھاگتا ہے تاکہ اذان نہ سنے۔ جب اذان ختم ہو جائے تو واپس آ جاتا ہے۔ جب اقامت کہی جائے تو بھاگ جاتا ہے۔ جب اقامت ختم ہو جائے تو واپس آ جاتا ہے۔ پھر آتا ہے اور آدمی اور اس کے دل کے درمیان وسوسہ ڈالتا ہے، کہتا ہے: 'فلاں چیز یاد کرو' — جو چیزیں یاد نہیں تھیں — یہاں تک کہ آدمی کو پتا نہیں رہتا کہ اس نے کتنی نماز پڑھی ہے۔»
