أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَمْرَو بْنَ عَامِرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ قَالَ «إِنْ كَانَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ إِذَا أَذَّنَ قَامَ نَاسٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَيَبْتَدِرُونَ السَّوَارِيَ حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهُمْ كَذَلِكَ يُصَلُّونَ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَ الْأَذَانِ وَالْإِقَامَةِ شَيْءٌ»
English Translation
Anas bin Malik narrated: 'When the muezzin called the adhan, some of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would stand and rush to the pillars, praying the two rak'ahs before Maghrib until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out while they were doing that. There was nothing between the adhan and the iqamah.'
