أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجُعْفِيُّ عَنْ زَائِدَةَ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ سِرْنَا ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَوْ أَمْسَسْنَا الْأَرْضَ فَنِمْنَا وَرَعَتْ رَكَائِبُنَا قَالَ «فَمَنْ يَحْرُسُنَا؟ » قَالَ قُلْتُ أَنَا فَغَلَبَتْنِي عَيْنِي فَلَمْ يُوقِظْنِي إِلَّا وَقَدْ طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ وَلَمْ يَسْتَيْقِظْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِلَّا بِكَلَامِنَا قَالَ فَأَمَرَ بِلَالًا فَأَذَّنَ ثُمَّ أَقَامَ فَصَلَّى بِنَا
English Translation
Abdullah bin Mas'ud narrated: We traveled one night with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and we said: 'O Messenger of Allah, if only we could touch the ground, sleep, and let our mounts graze.' He said: 'Who will guard us?' He said: I said: 'I will.' So my eyes overpowered me, and nothing woke me except when the sun had risen. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not wake up except by our talking. He said: Then he commanded Bilal, who called the adhan, then established the prayer, and he led us in prayer.
