أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ الْجُمَحِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْحَسَنِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ زَيْدَ بْنَ وَهْبٍ يَقُولُ إِنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا ذَرٍّ يَقُولُ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَأَرَادَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ أَنْ يُؤَذِّنَ بِالظُّهْرِ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَبْرِدْ» ثُمَّ أَرَادَ أَنْ يُؤَذِّنَ فَقَالَ لَهُ «أَبْرِدْ» مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا حَتَّى رَأَيْنَا فَيْءَ التُّلُولِ وَقَالَ «إِنَّ شِدَّةَ الْحَرِّ مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ فَإِذَا اشْتَدَّ الْحَرُّ فَأَبْرِدُوا بِالصَّلَاةِ»
English Translation
Abu Dharr narrated: We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey, and the muezzin wanted to call the adhan for Dhuhr. The Prophet ﷺ said to him: 'Wait [until it cools].' Then he wanted to call the adhan, so he said to him: 'Wait' - two or three times - until we saw the shadow of the hills. And he said: 'Indeed, the intensity of heat is from the breath of Hell, so when the heat is intense, delay the prayer [until it cools].'
