Hadrat Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be well pleased with him) stated: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) ordered a tent of hair to be pitched for him at Namirah. The Beloved Messenger of Allah proceeded, and Quraysh did not doubt that he would stop at al-Mashar al-Haram as Quraysh used to do in the pre-Islamic period. But the Beloved Messenger of Allah passed beyond until he reached Arafah and found the tent had been pitched for him at Namirah, so he dismounted there. When the sun declined, he ordered al-Qaswa to be saddled for him, so it was saddled. Then he came to the bottom of the valley and addressed the people, then stated: Verily, your blood and your wealth are sacred to you, like the sacredness of this day of yours, in this month of yours, in this land of yours. Behold, everything from the pre-Islamic period is placed under my feet, and the blood-revenge of the pre-Islamic period is abolished. The first blood-revenge I abolish from our blood-revenge is the blood of Ibn Rabiah ibn al-Harith - he was nursed among Banu Layth, so Hudhayl killed him. Fear Allah concerning women, for you have taken them by the trust of Allah, and their private parts are lawful for you by the word of Allah. You have the right over them that they should not allow anyone you dislike to tread on your bedding. If they do that, then beat them, but not severely. They have the right to their provision and clothing according to what is reasonable. I have left among you that which, if you hold fast to it, you will never go astray: the Book of Allah. You will be asked about me, so what will you say? They said: We testify that you have conveyed, fulfilled, and advised. He pointed with his index finger, raising it to the sky and turning it toward the people: O Allah, bear witness - three times. Then the adhan was called, then the iqamah, and he prayed Dhuhr. Then the iqamah was called and he prayed Asr, and he did not pray anything between them.

حضرت جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے نمرہ میں بالوں کا ایک خیمہ لگانے کا حکم دیا۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم چلے اور قریش کو شک نہیں تھا سوائے اس کے کہ وہ مشعر الحرام کے پاس ٹھہریں گے جیسا کہ قریش جاہلیت میں کیا کرتے تھے۔ لیکن رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم آگے بڑھے یہاں تک کہ عرفہ پہنچے اور دیکھا کہ خیمہ نمرہ میں لگا دیا گیا ہے، تو وہاں اترے۔ جب سورج ڈھل گیا تو قصواء کو کجاوہ کسنے کا حکم دیا، تو کس دیا گیا۔ پھر وادی کی تہہ میں آئے اور لوگوں کو خطبہ دیا، پھر فرمایا: بے شک تمہارے خون اور تمہارے مال تم پر حرام ہیں جیسے تمہارے اس دن کی حرمت تمہارے اس مہینے میں تمہارے اس شہر میں۔ خبردار، جاہلیت کے دور کی ہر چیز میرے پاؤں تلے رکھ دی گئی ہے، اور جاہلیت کے خون ختم کر دیے گئے ہیں۔ سب سے پہلے جو خون میں اپنے خونوں سے ختم کرتا ہوں وہ ابن ربیعہ بن حارث کا خون ہے - وہ بنی لیث میں دودھ پیتا تھا تو ہذیل نے اسے قتل کر دیا۔ عورتوں کے بارے میں اللہ سے ڈرو، کیونکہ تم نے انہیں اللہ کی امانت سے لیا ہے، اور ان کی شرمگاہیں اللہ کے کلمے سے تمہارے لیے حلال کی ہیں۔ تمہارا ان پر حق ہے کہ وہ تمہارے بستروں پر کسی کو نہ آنے دیں جسے تم ناپسند کرو۔ اگر وہ ایسا کریں تو انہیں مارو لیکن سختی سے نہیں۔ اور ان کا تم پر حق ہے کہ انہیں معروف طریقے سے رزق اور لباس دو۔ اور میں نے تمہارے درمیان وہ چیز چھوڑی ہے کہ اگر تم اسے مضبوطی سے تھامو تو کبھی گمراہ نہ ہوگے: اللہ کی کتاب۔ اور تم سے میرے بارے میں پوچھا جائے گا تو تم کیا کہوگے؟ انہوں نے کہا: ہم گواہی دیتے ہیں کہ آپ نے پہنچا دیا، ادا کیا اور نصیحت فرمائی۔ آپ نے اپنی شہادت کی انگلی سے اشارہ کیا، اسے آسمان کی طرف اٹھایا اور لوگوں کی طرف موڑا: اے اللہ گواہ رہ - تین بار۔ پھر اذان دی گئی، پھر اقامت کہی گئی اور ظہر کی نماز پڑھی۔ پھر اقامت کہی گئی اور عصر کی نماز پڑھی، اور ان دونوں کے درمیان کچھ نہیں پڑھا۔
