Hadrat Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both) recited: {The Day when the heaven will split open with clouds, and the angels will be sent down in successive descent} [al-Furqan: 25]. He said: "The lowest heaven will split open and its angels will descend. They are more numerous than all the Jinn and mankind on earth combined. The people of the earth will ask: 'Is our Lord among you?' They will say: 'No.' Then the angels of the second heaven will descend, and they are more numerous than the angels of the first heaven and all the people of the earth. They will ask: 'Is our Lord among you?' They will say: 'No.' Then the angels of the third heaven will descend, more numerous than the second, the first, and all the people of the earth. They will ask: 'Is our Lord among you?' They will say: 'No.' Then the angels of the fourth heaven will descend, more numerous than the third, second, first, and the people of the earth. They will ask: 'Is our Lord among you?' They will say: 'No.' Then the angels of the fifth heaven will descend, more numerous than the fourth, third, second, first, and the people of the earth. They will ask: 'Is our Lord among you?' They will say: 'No.' Then the angels of the sixth heaven will descend, more numerous than the fifth, fourth, third, second, first, and the people of the earth. They will ask: 'Is our Lord among you?' They will say: 'No.' Then the angels of the seventh heaven will descend, more numerous than the sixth, fifth, fourth, third, second, first, and the people of the earth. They will ask: 'Is our Lord among you?' They will say: 'No.' Then the Cherubim will descend, and they are more numerous than the angels of all seven heavens, the earths, and the bearers of the Throne combined. They have horns with joints like the joints of spears. The distance between the feet of one of them is such-and-such. From the sole of his foot to his ankle is a journey of five hundred years; from his ankle to his knee is five hundred years; from his knee to his hip is five hundred years; and from his collarbone to the place of the earring is five hundred years." Its chain of narration is strong.

حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما نے تلاوت فرمائی: {جس دن آسمان بادلوں سے پھٹ جائے گا اور فرشتے اتارے جائیں گے لگاتار} [الفرقان: 25]۔ فرمایا: «آسمانِ دنیا پھٹے گا اور اُس کے فرشتے اتریں گے — وہ زمین پر موجود تمام جنوں اور انسانوں سے زیادہ ہوں گے۔ اہلِ زمین پوچھیں گے: کیا ہمارا رب تم میں ہے؟ وہ کہیں گے: نہیں۔ پھر دوسرے آسمان کے فرشتے اتریں گے — وہ پہلے آسمان اور اہلِ زمین سے زیادہ ہوں گے۔ پوچھیں گے: کیا ہمارا رب تم میں ہے؟ کہیں گے: نہیں۔ پھر تیسرے آسمان کے فرشتے اتریں گے — وہ دوسرے، پہلے آسمان اور اہلِ زمین سے زیادہ ہوں گے۔ پوچھیں گے: کیا ہمارا رب تم میں ہے؟ کہیں گے: نہیں۔ پھر چوتھے آسمان کے فرشتے اتریں گے — وہ تیسرے، دوسرے، پہلے اور اہلِ زمین سے زیادہ ہوں گے۔ پوچھیں گے: کیا ہمارا رب تم میں ہے؟ کہیں گے: نہیں۔ پھر پانچویں آسمان کے فرشتے اتریں گے — وہ چوتھے، تیسرے، دوسرے، پہلے اور اہلِ زمین سے زیادہ ہوں گے۔ پوچھیں گے: کیا ہمارا رب تم میں ہے؟ کہیں گے: نہیں۔ پھر چھٹے آسمان کے فرشتے اتریں گے — وہ پانچویں، چوتھے، تیسرے، دوسرے، پہلے اور اہلِ زمین سے زیادہ ہوں گے۔ پوچھیں گے: کیا ہمارا رب تم میں ہے؟ کہیں گے: نہیں۔ پھر ساتویں آسمان کے فرشتے اتریں گے — وہ چھٹے، پانچویں، چوتھے، تیسرے، دوسرے، پہلے اور اہلِ زمین سے زیادہ ہوں گے۔ پوچھیں گے: کیا ہمارا رب تم میں ہے؟ کہیں گے: نہیں۔ پھر کروبیون اتریں گے — وہ ساتوں آسمانوں، زمینوں اور حاملینِ عرش سب سے زیادہ ہوں گے۔ اُن کے سینگ ایسے جوڑوں والے ہوں گے جیسے نیزوں کے جوڑ۔ اُن میں سے ایک کے دونوں پاؤں کے درمیان اتنا اتنا فاصلہ ہوگا۔ اُس کے تلوے سے ٹخنے تک پانچ سو سال کی مسافت ہوگی، ٹخنے سے گھٹنے تک پانچ سو سال، گھٹنے سے کولہے تک پانچ سو سال، اور ہنسلی سے بالی کی جگہ تک پانچ سو سال کی مسافت ہوگی۔» اس کی سند قوی ہے۔
