حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَمْشَاذَ الْعَدْلُ ثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ شَرِيكٍ ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ أَخْبَرَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ حَدَّثَنِي عُمَارَةُ بْنُ غَزِيَّةَ حَدَّثَنِي يَعْلَى بْنُ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ «كُنَّا نَعُدُّ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّ الرِّيَاءَ الشِّرْكُ الْأَصْغَرُ» هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح
English Translation
Hadrat Shaddad ibn Aws (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated through his son Ya'la that he said: "We used to consider during the time of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) that showing off is the lesser polytheism." This is a hadith with an authentic chain of transmission, though neither [al-Bukhari nor Muslim] recorded it. [Authentic].
Urdu Translation
حضرت شداد بن اوس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے ان کے بیٹے یعلیٰ کے واسطے سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے فرمایا: «ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے زمانے میں ریاکاری کو شرکِ اصغر شمار کرتے تھے۔» یہ حدیث صحیح الاسناد ہے مگر انہوں نے اسے روایت نہیں کیا۔ صحیح۔
