أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَنْبَأَ عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ أَنْبَأَ خَالِدٌ عَنْ أَبِي الْمَلِيحِ عَنْ نُبَيْشَةَ قَالَ سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا كُنَّا نَعْتِرُ عَتِيرَةً فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَمِنْ رَجَبٍ فَمَا تَأْمُرُنَا؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اذْبَحُوا لِلَّهِ فِي أَيِّ شَهْرٍ مَا كَانَ وَبَرُّوا لِلَّهِ وَأَطْعِمُوا»
English Translation
Hadrat Nubayshah (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrates that a man asked the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and submitted: "O Messenger of Allah, we used to offer the 'atirah sacrifice in the pre-Islamic era during Rajab. What do you command us?" The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "Slaughter for the sake of Allah in whichever month it may be, be obedient to Allah, and feed others."
Urdu Translation
حضرت نبیشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ایک شخص نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! ہم جاہلیت میں رجب کے مہینے میں عتیرہ (قربانی) کیا کرتے تھے، آپ ہمیں کیا حکم دیتے ہیں؟ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: «اللہ کے لیے ذبح کرو چاہے کسی بھی مہینے میں ہو، اللہ کی اطاعت کرو اور لوگوں کو کھلاؤ۔»
