Al-Husayn ibn al-Hasan informed us, Abdullah ibn Ahmad ibn Abi Masarrah narrated to us, Abdullah ibn al-Zubayr al-Humaydi narrated to us, Ali ibn Yazid ibn Abi Hakim narrated to us from his father and others, from Hadrat Salamah ibn al-Akwa' (may Allah be well pleased with him) that Amir ibn al-Tufayl did not enter Madinah except with a guarantee of safety from the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). When he came, the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said to him: 'O Amir, accept Islam and you will be safe.' He said: 'Yes, on the condition that the desert dwellers are mine and the city dwellers are yours.' He stated: 'This shall not be. Accept Islam and you will be safe.' Then the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: 'O Amir, go until we consider your matter tomorrow.' The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) then sent word to the Ansar and said: 'What do you think? I have invited this man but he refuses to accept Islam unless the desert dwellers are his and the city dwellers are mine.' They said: 'Whatever Allah wills, then whatever you will, O Messenger of Allah. They never took a hobbling rope from us except that we took two hobbling ropes from them. Allah and His Messenger know best.' Amir returned to the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), and he said to him: 'Accept Islam and you will be safe, O Amir.' He said: 'There is nothing but that,' and he insisted on having the desert dwellers for himself and the city dwellers for the Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). The Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) refused. Amir then said: 'By Allah, I shall fill it against you with cavalry and foot soldiers.' The Beloved Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'Allah will prevent you from that, and the sons of the tribes of al-Aws and al-Khazraj.' Then Amir turned away, and the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'O Allah, suffice me against him.' So Allah struck him with a throat disease before he could reach his family. Amir said when the throat disease seized him: 'O family of Amir, this is a gland like the gland of a young camel!' He perished the moment it seized him, before reaching his family. Al-Dhahabi remained silent about it in al-Talkhis.

حسین بن الحسن نے ہمیں خبر دی، عبد اللہ بن احمد بن ابی مسرہ نے ہم سے بیان کیا، عبد اللہ بن الزبیر الحمیدی نے ہم سے بیان کیا، علی بن یزید بن ابی حکیم نے اپنے والد اور دوسروں سے، وہ حضرت سلمہ بن الاکوع رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ عامر بن الطفیل مدینہ میں صرف سرکارِ دو عالم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے امان نامے سے داخل ہوا۔ جب وہ آیا تو نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اس سے فرمایا: 'اے عامر! اسلام قبول کر لو سلامت رہو گے۔' اس نے کہا: ہاں، بشرطیکہ صحرا نشین میرے ہوں اور شہری آپ کے۔ آپ نے فرمایا: 'یہ نہیں ہو سکتا۔ اسلام قبول کر لو سلامت رہو گے۔' پھر نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا: 'اے عامر! جاؤ، کل تک ہم تمہارے معاملے میں غور کریں گے۔' پھر سرکارِ دو عالم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے انصار کو بلا بھیجا اور فرمایا: 'تمہاری کیا رائے ہے؟ میں نے اس آدمی کو دعوت دی لیکن وہ اسلام قبول نہیں کرتا سوائے اس کے کہ صحرا نشین اس کے ہوں اور شہری میرے۔' انہوں نے عرض کیا: جو اللہ چاہے پھر جو آپ چاہیں یا رسول اللہ! انہوں نے ہم سے کبھی ایک رسی نہیں لی مگر ہم نے ان سے دو رسیاں لیں، اللہ اور اس کے رسول بہتر جانتے ہیں۔ عامر نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس واپس آیا تو آپ نے فرمایا: 'اے عامر! اسلام قبول کر لو سلامت رہو گے۔' اس نے کہا: اس کے سوا کچھ نہیں، اور اس نے اصرار کیا کہ صحرا نشین اس کے ہوں اور شہری نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے انکار فرمایا۔ تو عامر نے کہا: اللہ کی قسم! میں اس کو تمہارے خلاف گھوڑ سواروں اور پیدل فوجیوں سے بھر دوں گا۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: 'اللہ تمہیں اس سے روکے گا اور اوس و خزرج کے فرزند۔' پھر عامر پلٹا تو سرکارِ دو عالم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے دعا فرمائی: 'اے اللہ! مجھے اس سے کفایت فرما۔' تو اللہ نے اسے گلے کی بیماری میں مبتلا فرمایا اس سے پہلے کہ وہ اپنے گھر والوں کے پاس پہنچتا۔ عامر نے جب گلے کی بیماری نے اسے پکڑا تو کہا: اے آلِ عامر! یہ اونٹنی کے بچے کی گلٹی جیسی گلٹی ہے! اور اپنے گھر والوں تک پہنچنے سے پہلے ہی اسی لمحے ہلاک ہو گیا۔ امام ذہبی نے تلخیص میں اس پر سکوت فرمایا۔
