حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَمْرٍو عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ السَّمَّاكِ الثِّقَةُ الْمَأْمُونُ بِبَغْدَادَ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُكْرَمٍ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ثنا مَالِكُ بْنُ مِغْوَلٍ عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ الْعَيْزَارِ عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَيُّ الْعَمَلِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ «الصَّلَاةُ فِي أَوَّلِ وَقْتِهَا» قُلْتُ ثُمَّ أَيُّ؟ قَالَ «الْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ» قُلْتُ ثُمَّ أَيُّ؟ قَالَ «بِرُّ الْوَالِدَيْنِ» «هَذَا حَدِيثٌ يُعْرَفُ بِهَذَا اللَّفْظِ بِمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ بَشَّارٍ بُنْدَارٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عُمَرَ وَبُنْدَارٌ مِنَ الْحُفَّاظِ الْمُتْقِنِينَ الْأَثْبَاتِ» على شرطهما
English Translation
Abu Amr Uthman ibn Ahmad ibn Abdullah ibn al-Sammak, the trustworthy and reliable, narrated to us in Baghdad... from Hadrat Abdullah (ibn Mas'ud) (may Allah be well pleased with him) who said: I asked the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him): "Which deed is most virtuous?" He stated: "Prayer at its earliest time." I submitted: "Then which?" He stated: "Jihad in the way of Allah." I submitted: "Then which?" He stated: "Being dutiful to parents." This hadith is known with this wording through Muhammad ibn Bashshar Bundar from Uthman ibn Umar, and Bundar is among the precise, firmly established hadith masters.
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ (بن مسعود) رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ میں نے حضور نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے عرض کیا: "کون سا عمل افضل ہے؟" ارشاد فرمایا: "نماز اپنے اول وقت میں پڑھنا۔" میں نے عرض کیا: "پھر کون سا؟" ارشاد فرمایا: "اللہ کی راہ میں جہاد۔" میں نے عرض کیا: "پھر کون سا؟" ارشاد فرمایا: "والدین سے حسنِ سلوک۔" یہ حدیث اس لفظ سے محمد بن بشار بندار سے عثمان بن عمر سے معروف ہے اور بندار حفاظ متقنین ثبت میں سے ہیں۔
