أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ ابْنِ خُثَيْمٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ خَلَفٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَخَذَ حُسَيْنًا فَقَبَّلَهُ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ الْوَلَدَ مَبْخَلَةٌ مَجْبَنَةٌ مَجْهَلَةٌ مَحْزَنَةٌ»
English Translation
Ma'mar informed us from Ibn Khuthaym from Muhammad ibn al-Aswad ibn Khalaf from his father that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) took Husayn, kissed him, then turned to them and stated: "Indeed, children cause miserliness, cowardice, ignorance, and grief."
Urdu Translation
معمر نے ابن خثیم سے، انہوں نے محمد بن الاسود بن خلف سے، انہوں نے اپنے والد سے روایت کیا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے حسین کو اٹھایا اور بوسہ دیا، پھر لوگوں کی طرف متوجہ ہو کر ارشاد فرمایا: «بے شک اولاد بخل، بزدلی، جہالت اور غم کا سبب ہے۔»
