Hadrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrated: When the messengers of Allah came to Lut, he thought they were guests who had come to visit him. He brought them close and seated them nearby, and he brought his daughters — they were three — and seated them between his guests and his people. When his people came rushing toward him, he saw them and said: 'These are my daughters; they are purer for you. So fear Allah and do not disgrace me before my guests' (Hud: 78). They said: 'You have already known that we have no right to your daughters, and indeed you know what we want' (Hud: 79). He said: 'If only I had against you some power or could take refuge in a strong supporter' (Hud: 80). Then Jibril (upon him be peace) turned to him and said: 'Indeed, we are messengers of your Lord; they will never reach you' (Hud: 81). So he blinded their eyes, and they retreated, stumbling over one another, until they went out to those at the door. They said: We have come to you from the most skillful sorcerer — he has blinded our eyes. They went off stumbling over one another until they entered the town. Then it was raised in the middle of the night until it was between the heaven and the earth, so that they could hear the voices of the birds in the atmosphere. Then it was overturned, and the stones rained upon them. Whoever was struck by a stone was killed, and whoever escaped was pursued by a stone wherever he went. Then he departed with his daughters — they were three — until when they reached a certain place in Syria, his eldest daughter died, and a spring gushed forth there called al-Wariyyah. Then he traveled wherever Allah willed, and the youngest died, and a spring gushed forth there called al-Ru'unah. Only the middle one remained. This hadith is sound upon the criteria of the two Shaykhs.

حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے مروی ہے کہ جب اللہ کے فرستادے لوط کے پاس آئے تو انہوں نے سمجھا کہ یہ مہمان ہیں جو ان سے ملنے آئے ہیں۔ انہوں نے انہیں قریب بٹھایا اور اپنی بیٹیاں لائے — وہ تین تھیں — اور انہیں اپنے مہمانوں اور اپنی قوم کے درمیان بٹھا دیا۔ جب ان کی قوم ان کی طرف دوڑتی ہوئی آئی تو انہوں نے دیکھا اور کہا: 'یہ میری بیٹیاں ہیں، یہ تمہارے لیے زیادہ پاکیزہ ہیں، اللہ سے ڈرو اور میرے مہمانوں کے سامنے مجھے رسوا نہ کرو' (ھود: 78)۔ انہوں نے کہا: 'تمہیں معلوم ہے کہ تمہاری بیٹیوں میں ہمارا کوئی حق نہیں اور تم جانتے ہو ہم کیا چاہتے ہیں' (ھود: 79)۔ فرمایا: 'کاش مجھے تمہارے مقابلے میں کوئی طاقت ہوتی یا میں کسی مضبوط سہارے کی پناہ لے سکتا' (ھود: 80)۔ تو جبریل علیہ السلام نے ان کی طرف رخ کیا اور فرمایا: 'ہم تمہارے رب کے بھیجے ہوئے ہیں، یہ تم تک نہیں پہنچ سکتے' (ھود: 81)۔ تو ان کی آنکھیں اندھی کر دیں اور وہ ایک دوسرے پر گرتے پڑتے پیچھے ہٹے یہاں تک کہ باہر والوں کے پاس نکلے اور کہا: ہم تمہارے پاس سب سے بڑے جادوگر کے پاس سے آئے ہیں، اس نے ہماری آنکھیں اندھی کر دیں۔ وہ ایک دوسرے پر گرتے ہوئے چلے یہاں تک کہ بستی میں داخل ہو گئے۔ پھر رات کے وقت بستی اٹھائی گئی یہاں تک کہ آسمان اور زمین کے درمیان ہو گئی یہاں تک کہ وہ فضا میں پرندوں کی آوازیں سنتے تھے۔ پھر اسے الٹ دیا گیا اور ان پر پتھروں کی بارش ہوئی۔ جس پر پتھر آ گرا وہ ہلاک ہو گیا اور جو نکل بھاگا اسکے پیچھے جہاں بھی تھا پتھر آ گیا۔ پھر وہ اپنی بیٹیوں کو لے کر نکلے — وہ تین تھیں — یہاں تک کہ شام کے ایک مقام پر بڑی بیٹی کا انتقال ہو گیا اور وہاں ایک چشمہ نکلا جسے الوریّہ کہتے ہیں۔ پھر جہاں اللہ نے چاہا وہاں گئے اور چھوٹی بیٹی کا انتقال ہو گیا اور وہاں ایک چشمہ نکلا جسے الرعونہ کہتے ہیں۔ درمیانی بیٹی باقی رہی۔ یہ حدیث بخاری و مسلم کی شرط پر صحیح ہے۔
