حَدَّثَنَا الشَّيْخُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَنْبَأَ يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْقَزْوِينِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سَابِقٍ ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا يَقُولُ «وَلَّانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَمْسَ الْخُمُسِ فَوَضَعْتُهُ مَوَاضِعَهُ حَيَاةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح
English Translation
Hadrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrated: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) took for himself his sword Dhu al-Faqar as extra spoils on the day of Badr. Ibn Abbas said: This is the one about which he saw a dream on the day of Uhud. When the polytheists came to him on the day of Uhud, the opinion of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was to stay in Medina and fight them there. But some people who had not been present at Badr said: 'Take us out to them, O Messenger of Allah, so we may fight them at Uhud'—hoping to attain the same merit as the people of Badr. They kept pressing the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) until he put on his armor. Then they felt regret and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, stay, for the best opinion is yours.' The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'It is not befitting for a prophet to remove his armor after putting it on until Allah judges between him and his enemy.' He also told them before putting on the armor: 'I saw in a dream that I was in an impenetrable fortress, which I interpreted as Medina. And I saw that I was riding behind a ram, which I interpreted as the leader of the battalion. And I saw that my sword Dhu al-Faqar was notched, which I interpreted as a setback among you. And I saw cattle being slaughtered—and cattle, by Allah, are good, and cattle, by Allah, are good.' This hadith has a sound chain of narration, though they did not record it.
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے بدر کے دن اپنی تلوار ذوالفقار نفل کے طور پر لی۔ ابن عباس نے کہا: یہ وہی ہے جس کے بارے میں آپ نے احد کے دن خواب دیکھا۔ جب مشرکین احد کے دن آپ کے پاس آئے تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی رائے یہ تھی کہ مدینہ میں رہیں اور ان سے وہیں لڑیں۔ لیکن کچھ لوگوں نے جو بدر میں شریک نہیں ہوئے تھے کہا: یا رسول اللہ! ہمیں ان کے مقابلے میں باہر لے چلیں تاکہ احد میں لڑیں — وہ امید رکھتے تھے کہ اہلِ بدر جیسی فضیلت پائیں۔ وہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے اصرار کرتے رہے یہاں تک کہ آپ نے اپنا ہتھیار پہن لیا۔ پھر انہیں ندامت ہوئی اور کہا: یا رسول اللہ! ٹھہریں، بہترین رائے آپ کی ہے۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: کسی نبی کے لیے مناسب نہیں کہ وہ ہتھیار پہننے کے بعد اتارے جب تک اللہ اس کے اور اس کے دشمن کے درمیان فیصلہ نہ فرما دے۔ آپ نے ہتھیار پہننے سے پہلے انہیں یہ بھی بتایا تھا: میں نے خواب میں دیکھا کہ میں ایک مضبوط زرہ میں ہوں جس کی تعبیر میں نے مدینہ لی، اور یہ کہ میں ایک مینڈھے کے پیچھے سوار ہوں جس کی تعبیر لشکر کا سردار لی، اور دیکھا کہ میری تلوار ذوالفقار ٹوٹ گئی ہے جس کی تعبیر میں نے تم میں شکست لی، اور دیکھا کہ گائیں ذبح ہو رہی ہیں — اور گائے اللہ کی قسم خیر ہیں، گائے اللہ کی قسم خیر ہیں۔ یہ حدیث صحیح الاسناد ہے لیکن انہوں نے اسے نقل نہیں کیا۔
