أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو قُتَيْبَةَ سَلْمُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْآدَمِيُّ بِمَكَّةَ ثنا أَبُو شُعَيْبِ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ثنا ابْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمَدَائِنِيُّ ثنا سَالِمُ بْنُ نُوحٍ الْعَطَّارُ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ إِيَاسٍ الْجُرَيْرِيُّ عَنْ حَيَّانَ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ «بَيْنَمَا أَرْمِي أَسْهُمًا إِذِ انْكَشَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَنَبَذْتُهَا وَانْطَلَقْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَانْتَهَيْتُ إِلَيْهِ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ رَافِعٌ يَدَيْهِ يُسَبِّحُ وَيُكَبِّرُ وَيَحْمَدُ رَبَّهُ وَيَدْعُو حَتَّى انْجَلَتْ وَقَرَأَ سُورَتَيْنِ فِي رَكْعَتَيْنِ»
English Translation
Hadrat Abd al-Rahman ibn Samurah (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated: "While I was shooting arrows, the sun was eclipsed. I threw the arrows aside and went to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) to see what he would do regarding the eclipse. I found him standing in prayer, raising his hands and glorifying Allah, praising Him, declaring His oneness, and magnifying Him, and supplicating until the eclipse cleared. He then recited two surahs and prayed two units."
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبدالرحمٰن بن سمرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے: «میں تیر چلا رہا تھا کہ سورج گرہن ہو گیا۔ میں نے تیر پھینک دیے اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی طرف چل دیا تاکہ دیکھوں کہ آپ گرہن میں کیا کرتے ہیں۔ میں نے آپ کو کھڑے ہوئے نماز پڑھتے، ہاتھ اٹھائے، تسبیح، تحمید، تہلیل، تکبیر اور دعا کرتے پایا یہاں تک کہ گرہن ختم ہو گیا۔ پھر آپ نے دو سورتیں پڑھیں اور دو رکعتیں پڑھیں۔»
