أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا رَضِيَ اللهِ عَنْهُ، قَالَ : " كَانَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ يُؤَذِّنُ لِصَلَاةِ الْمَغْرِبِ عَلَى عَهْدِ ِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَفَيَقُومُ لُبَابُ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَيَبْتَدِرُونَ السَّوَارِيَ حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُمْ كَذَلِكَ ". قَالَ : وَقَلَّ مَا كَانَ يَلْبَثُ
English Translation
Hadrat Anas (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated: "The muezzin would call the Adhan for the Maghrib prayer in the time of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), and the prominent companions would rush to the pillars (of the mosque) and pray (two rak'ahs) before Maghrib, until a person entering the mosque would think that the prayer had already been performed because of the number of people praying."
Urdu Translation
حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے: "رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے زمانے میں مؤذن مغرب کی اذان دیتا تو رسول اللہ کے بڑے صحابہ ستونوں کی طرف لپکتے اور مغرب سے پہلے (دو رکعتیں) پڑھتے، یہاں تک کہ مسجد میں آنے والا سمجھتا کہ نماز ہو چکی ہے اتنے لوگ نماز پڑھ رہے ہوتے۔"
