أَخْبَرَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمَا قَالَ : سَأَلْنَا جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللهِ عَنْهُمَا فِي زَمَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ وَكَانَ يُؤَخِّرُ الصَّلَاةَ عَنْ وَقْتِ الصَّلَاةِ، فَقَالَ جَابِرٌ : كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ" يُصَلِّي الظُّهْرَ حِينَ تَزُولُ الشَّمْسُ، وَالْعَصْرَ وَهِيَ حَيَّةٌ أَوْ نَقِيَّةٌ، وَالْمَغْرِبَ حِينَ تَجِبُ الشَّمْسُ، وَالْعِشَاءَ رُبَّمَا عَجَّلَ وَرُبَّمَا أَخَّرَ : إِذَا اجْتَمَع�� النَّاسُ عَجَّلَ، وَإِذَا تَأَخَّرُوا، أَخَّرَ، وَالصُّبْحَ رُبَّمَا كَانُوا أَوْ كَانَ يُصَلِّيهَا بِغَلَسٍ "
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Amr ibn al-Hasan ibn Ali narrated: We asked Hadrat Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be well pleased with them both) during the time of Hajjaj — who used to delay the prayer beyond its time — and Hadrat Jabir said: The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to pray Zuhr when the sun passed the meridian, Asr while the sun was still bright and clear, Maghrib when the sun had set, and Isha — sometimes he would delay it and sometimes he would pray it early; when he saw that the people had gathered, he would pray early, and when he saw them delayed, he would delay it. And they used to pray Fajr while it was still dark.
Urdu Translation
محمد بن عمرو بن حسن بن علی نے بیان کیا: ہم نے حضرت جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے حجاج کے زمانے میں پوچھا — جو نماز کو وقت سے تاخیر کر دیتا تھا — تو حضرت جابر نے فرمایا: نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ظہر اس وقت پڑھتے جب سورج ڈھل جاتا، عصر جب سورج ابھی روشن اور صاف ہوتا، مغرب جب سورج غروب ہو جاتا، اور عشاء — کبھی تاخیر فرماتے اور کبھی جلدی پڑھتے؛ جب دیکھتے کہ لوگ جمع ہو گئے ہیں تو جلدی پڑھتے اور جب دیکھتے کہ لوگ دیر سے آ رہے ہیں تو تاخیر فرماتے۔ اور فجر اندھیرے میں پڑھتے تھے۔
