Arabic (Original)
وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ، قَالَ :" كُونُوا يَنَابِيعَ الْعِلْمِ، مَصَابِيحَ الْهُدَى، أَحْلَاسَ الْبُيُوتِ، سُرُجَ اللَّيْلِ، جُدُدَ الْقُلُوبِ، خُلْقَانَ الثِّيَابِ، تُعْرَفُونَ فِي أَهْلِ السَّمَاءِ، وَتَخْفَوْنَ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ "
English Translation
And with the same chain, he (Hadrat Ibn Mas'ud) said: 'Be springs of knowledge, lamps of guidance, adhering to your homes, lights of the night, with fresh hearts and worn clothes — you will be known among the people of the heavens and hidden among the people of the earth.'
Urdu Translation
اسی سند سے (حضرت ابن مسعود رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے) فرمایا: علم کے چشمے بنو، ہدایت کے چراغ بنو، گھروں سے چمٹے رہو، رات کے دیے بنو، تازہ دلوں والے اور پرانے کپڑوں والے — تم آسمان والوں میں پہچانے جاؤ گے اور زمین والوں میں چھپے رہو گے۔
