أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ نُبَيْحٍ الْعَنَزِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا : غَزَوْنَا أَوْ سَافَرْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَحْنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِضْعَةَ عَشَرَ وَمِائَتَانِ فَحَضَرَتْ الصَّلَاةُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :" هَلْ فِي الْقَوْمِ مِنْ طَهُورٍ؟ "، فَجَاءَ رَجُلٌ يَسْعَى، بِإِدَاوَةٍ فِيهَا شَيْءٌ مِنْ مَاءٍ، لَيْسَ فِي الْقَوْمِ مَاءٌ غَيْرُهُ، " فَصَبَّهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي قَدَحٍ، ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ فَأَحْسَنَ الْوُضُوءَ، ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ وَتَرَكَ الْقَدَحَ "، فَرَكِبَ النَّاسُ ذَلِكَ الْقَدَحَ، وَقَالُوا : تَمَسَّحُوا تَمَسَّحُوا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " عَلَى رِسْلِكُمْ " حِينَ سَمِعَهُمْ يَقُولُونَ ذَلِكَ، " فَوَضَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَفَّهُ فِي الْمَاءِ وَالْقَدَحِ "، وَقَالَ : " بِسْمِ اللَّهِ "، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " أَسْبِغُوا الطُّهُورَ "، فَوَالَّذِي هُوَ ابْتَلَانِي بِبَصَرِي لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ الْعُيُونَ، عُيُونَ الْمَاءِ تَخْرُجُ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَصَابِعِهِ فَلَمْ يَرْفَعْهَا حَتَّى تَوَضَّئُوا أَجْمَعُونَ
English Translation
Hadrat Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrated: 'We went on an expedition — or traveled — with the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), and we were over two hundred and ten people that day. The time for prayer came, and the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "Does anyone among you have water for purification?" A man came running with a water-skin containing a small amount of water; there was no other water among the people. The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) poured it into a bowl, then performed ablution beautifully. Then he turned away and left the bowl. The people rushed to the bowl, saying: Wipe yourselves, wipe yourselves (with the blessed water). The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "Take it easy" when he heard them saying that. The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) placed his blessed hand in the water in the bowl and said: "In the name of Allah." Then he stated: "Perform your ablution thoroughly." By the One who tested me with the loss of my sight, I saw springs — springs of water — gushing forth from between his blessed fingers. He did not lift his blessed hand until all of them had performed ablution.'
Urdu Translation
حضرت جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما نے بیان کیا: ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے ساتھ غزوے یا سفر پر نکلے اور ہم اس دن دو سو دس سے زیادہ لوگ تھے۔ نماز کا وقت آیا تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا: کیا کسی کے پاس وضو کا پانی ہے؟ ایک شخص دوڑتا ہوا ایک مشکیزہ لایا جس میں تھوڑا سا پانی تھا، لوگوں کے پاس اس کے سوا پانی نہیں تھا۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اسے ایک پیالے میں ڈالا، پھر اچھی طرح وضو فرمایا، پھر واپس ہوئے اور پیالا چھوڑ دیا۔ لوگ اس پیالے پر ٹوٹ پڑے اور کہنے لگے: مَس کرو، مَس کرو۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے جب یہ سنا تو فرمایا: آرام سے! پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اپنی ہتھیلی مبارک پانی اور پیالے میں رکھی اور فرمایا: بسم اللہ۔ پھر فرمایا: وضو اچھی طرح کرو۔ اس ذات کی قسم جس نے مجھے میری آنکھوں کی آزمائش میں ڈالا، میں نے چشمے دیکھے — پانی کے چشمے — آپ کی انگلیوں کے درمیان سے نکلتے ہوئے۔ آپ نے اپنا ہاتھ مبارک نہیں اٹھایا جب تک سب نے وضو نہیں کر لیا۔
