Hadrat Utbah ibn Abd al-Sulami (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated — and he was from the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) — that a man asked the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him): 'How was the beginning of your affair, O Messenger of Allah?' He stated: 'My wet-nurse was from the Banu Sa'd ibn Bakr. I and a son of hers went out with some young animals of ours, and we did not take any provisions with us. I said: O my brother, go and bring us some provisions from our mother. So my brother went and I stayed with the animals. Then two white birds resembling eagles came. One of them said to the other: Is he the one? The other said: Yes. They rushed towards me, seized me, laid me on my back, and split open my chest. Then they took out my heart and split it open, and removed two black clots from it. One of them said to the other: Bring me snow-water. So he washed my interior with it. Then he said: Bring me hail-water. So he washed my heart with it. Then he said: Bring me tranquility (sakinah). So he sprinkled it into my heart. Then one of them said to the other: Stitch it. So he stitched it and sealed it with the Seal of Prophethood. Then one of them said to the other: Place him in one pan of a scale and place a thousand of his nation in the other pan.' The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'I was looking at the thousand above me, fearing that some of them might fall upon me. Then he said: Even if his entire nation were weighed against him, he would outweigh them all. Then they departed and left me.' The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'I was terrified and went to my mother and told her what had happened. She feared that something had afflicted me and said: I seek Allah's protection for you. She saddled a camel, placed me on the saddle, and rode behind me until we reached my mother. She said: I have fulfilled my trust and covenant. She told her what had happened to me, but that did not alarm her, and she said: Indeed when he came forth from me, I saw a light that illuminated the palaces of Syria.'
Urdu Translation
حضرت عتبہ بن عبد سلمی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے — اور وہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے صحابی تھے — کہ ایک شخص نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم سے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! آپ کے معاملے کی ابتدا کیسے ہوئی؟ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: میری دایہ بنو سعد بن بکر سے تھیں۔ میں اور ان کا ایک بیٹا ہمارے کچھ مویشیوں کے ساتھ نکلے اور ہم ساتھ کوئی زادِ راہ نہیں لائے تھے۔ میں نے کہا: بھائی جاؤ اور ہماری ماں کے پاس سے کچھ کھانا لاؤ۔ میرا بھائی چلا گیا اور میں مویشیوں کے پاس رہا۔ پھر دو سفید پرندے عقابوں کی مانند آئے۔ ایک نے دوسرے سے کہا: کیا یہ وہی ہے؟ دوسرے نے کہا: ہاں۔ وہ تیزی سے میری طرف آئے، مجھے پکڑا اور چِت لٹا دیا، میرا سینہ چیرا، پھر میرا دل نکالا اور اسے چیرا، اس میں سے دو سیاہ لوتھڑے نکالے۔ ایک نے دوسرے سے کہا: برف کا پانی لاؤ، اس سے میرے اندر کا حصہ دھویا۔ پھر کہا: اولوں کا پانی لاؤ، اس سے میرا دل دھویا۔ پھر کہا: سکینت لاؤ، اسے میرے دل میں ڈالا۔ پھر ایک نے دوسرے سے کہا: اسے سی دو، اس نے سی دیا اور مہرِ نبوت لگا دی۔ پھر ایک نے دوسرے سے کہا: اسے ایک پلڑے میں رکھو اور ان کی امت کے ہزار آدمیوں کو دوسرے پلڑے میں رکھو۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا: میں نے دیکھا کہ ہزار لوگ میرے اوپر ہیں اور مجھے ڈر لگا کہ کوئی مجھ پر نہ گر جائے۔ اس نے کہا: اگر ان کی پوری امت کو بھی ان سے تولا جائے تو یہ ان سب پر بھاری ہوں گے۔ پھر وہ چلے گئے اور مجھے چھوڑ دیا۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا: مجھے بہت خوف لگا، پھر میں اپنی ماں کے پاس گیا اور جو کچھ ہوا بتایا۔ انہیں ڈر لگا کہ مجھے کچھ ہو گیا ہے، کہا: میں تمہیں اللہ کی پناہ میں دیتی ہوں۔ انہوں نے اونٹنی پر کجاوا کسا، مجھے کجاوے پر بٹھایا اور خود پیچھے سوار ہوئیں یہاں تک کہ ہم میری (اصل) والدہ کے پاس پہنچے۔ کہا: میں نے اپنی امانت اور ذمہ داری ادا کر دی۔ اور جو کچھ ہوا بتایا لیکن والدہ کو اس سے کوئی خوف نہ ہوا اور فرمایا: جب یہ مجھ سے پیدا ہوئے تو میں نے ایک نور دیکھا جس سے شام کے محلات روشن ہو گئے۔
