Arabic (Original)
أَخْبَرَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ :" مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى يَمِينٍ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ، فَهُوَ بِالْخِيَارِ : إِنْ شَاءَ فَعَلَ، وَإِنْ شَاءَ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ "
English Translation
Hadrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrated that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "Whoever swears an oath and then says 'In sha Allah' (if Allah wills), he has a choice: if he wishes, he may act upon it, and if he wishes, he may leave it."
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: "جو شخص قسم کھائے پھر 'ان شاء اللہ' کہے تو اسے اختیار ہے: چاہے تو عمل کرے اور چاہے تو نہ کرے۔"
