أَخْبَرَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عُمَرُ :" إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى، بَعَثَ مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْحَقِّ، وَأَنْزَلَ عَلَيْهِ الْكِتَابَ، وَكَانَ فِيمَا أَنْزَلَ آيَةُ الرَّجْمِ، فَقَرَأْنَاهَا وَوَعَيْنَاهَا وَعَقَلْنَاهَا، وَرَجَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَرَجَمْنَا بَعْدَهُ، فَأَخْشَى إِنْ طَالَ بِالنَّاسِ زَمَانٌ أَنْ يَقُولَ الْقَائِلُ : لَا نَجِدُ حَدَّ آيَةِ الرَّجْمِ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ، وَالرَّجْمُ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ عَلَى مَنْ زَنَى مِنَ الرِّجَالِ وَالنِّسَاءِ إِذَا أُحْصِنَّ، إِذَا قَامَتْ عَلَيْهِ الْبَيِّنَةُ، أَوْ كَانَ الْحَبَلُ أَوِ الِاعْتِرَافُ "
English Translation
Hadrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrated that Hadrat Umar (may Allah be well pleased with him) said: 'Indeed Allah, the Most High, sent Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) with the truth and revealed the Book upon him, and among what was revealed was the verse of stoning. We recited it, memorized it, and understood it. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) carried out stoning and we carried out stoning after him. I fear that after a long time passes, someone might say: We do not find the verse of stoning in the Book of Allah — and they would go astray by abandoning an obligation that Allah revealed. Stoning in the Book of Allah is established as the truth upon the one who commits adultery — whether man or woman — when they are married, when evidence is established, or pregnancy occurs, or confession is made.'
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا: بے شک اللہ تعالیٰ نے محمد صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو حق کے ساتھ بھیجا اور ان پر کتاب نازل فرمائی اور جو نازل ہوا اس میں رجم کی آیت تھی۔ ہم نے اسے پڑھا، یاد کیا اور سمجھا۔ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے رجم کیا اور ہم نے آپ کے بعد رجم کیا۔ مجھے ڈر ہے کہ لمبا زمانہ گزرنے کے بعد کوئی کہے: ہم کتاب اللہ میں رجم کی آیت نہیں پاتے — اور وہ اس فرض کو چھوڑ کر گمراہ ہو جائیں جو اللہ نے نازل فرمایا۔ کتاب اللہ میں رجم حق ہے اس شخص پر جو زنا کرے — مرد ہو یا عورت — جب وہ شادی شدہ ہو، جب گواہی قائم ہو، یا حمل ہو، یا اقرار ہو۔
