Arabic (Original)
وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ لِأَبِي دَاوُدَ, وَالنَّسَائِيِّ: عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ - رضى الله عنه - { لَا تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ, وَلَا بِأُمَّهَاتِكُمْ, وَلَا بِالْأَنْدَادِ, وَلَا تَحْلِفُوا إِلَّا بِاَللَّهِ, وَلَا تَحْلِفُوا بِاَللَّهِ إِلَّا وَأَنْتُمْ صَادِقُونَ" } 1 .1 - صحيح. رواه أبو داود ( 3248 )، والنسائي ( 7 / 5 ).
English Translation
In a narration which is Marfu' (attributed to the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)) reported by Abu Dawud and an-Nasa'i from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) it has:"Do not swear by your fathers, nor by your mothers, nor by the rivals (set up as equals with Allah); and do not swear by Allah except when you are speaking the truth."
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابوداؤد اور نسائی کی روایت میں حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے مرفوعاً روایت ہے: "اپنے باپ دادا کی قسم نہ کھاؤ، نہ اپنی ماؤں کی، نہ بتوں کی، اور اللہ کے سوا کسی کی قسم نہ کھاؤ، اور اللہ کی قسم بھی صرف اسی وقت کھاؤ جب تم سچے ہو"۔
