English Translation
Narrated Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him): I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I hear many hadiths from you but I forget them." He said: "Spread out your cloak." So I spread it out, and he scooped with both hands and placed it into the cloak, then said: "Wrap it around yourself." I wrapped it around myself, and after that I never forgot anything.
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہمیں نے کہا یا رسول اللہ! میں آپ سے بہت سی حدیثیں سنتا ہوں مگر انھیں بھول جاتا ہوں، تو آپ نے فرمایا:”اپنی چادر پھیلاؤ۔“چنانچہ میں نے چادر پھیلائی تو آپ نے اپنے دونوں ہاتھ سے چلو بنایا (اور ایک فرضی لپ اس چادر میں ڈال دی) پھر فرمایا:”(اس چادر کو) اپنے اوپر لپیٹ لو۔“چنانچہ میں نے لپیٹ لی پھر اس کے بعد میں کچھ نہیں بھولا۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 99]
