English Translation
Abdullah ibn Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: "We were traveling with the Prophet (peace be upon him). When evening came, he said to a man: 'Dismount and prepare my sawiq (barley drink).' The man said: 'O Messenger of Allah, the sun is still out.' He said again: 'Dismount and prepare my sawiq.' The man repeated: 'O Messenger of Allah, the sun is still out.' He said (a third time): 'Dismount and prepare my sawiq.' So the man dismounted and prepared it. The Prophet (peace be upon him) drank it, then gestured with his hand toward the east and said: 'When you see the night coming from that direction, the fasting person should break his fast.'"
Urdu Translation
سیدنا عبداللہ بن ابی اوفی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہہم کسی سفر میں نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ہمراہ تھے (جب شام ہو گئی) تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ایک شخص سے فرمایا:”اترو اور میرے لیے ستو گھول دو۔ اس نے عرض کی یا رسول اللہ! ابھی آفتاب موجود ہے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے دوبارہ فرمایا:”اترو اور میرے لیے ستو گھول دو۔“اس نے پھر عرض کی یا رسول اللہ! ابھی تو آفتاب موجود ہے۔ چنانچہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”اترو اور میرے لیے ستو گھول دو،“چنانچہ وہ اونٹ سے اترے اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے لیے ستو گھول دیے پس آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے پیے اور اپنے ہاتھ سے اس طرف اشارہ کیا اور فرمایا:”جب تم رات کو دیکھو کہ اس طرف سے آ گئی تو روزہ دار روزہ افطار کر لے۔“[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 943]
