English Translation
Abu Juhaim (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "If the one passing in front of someone praying knew what (sin) is upon him, standing for forty would be better for him than passing in front of the one who is praying." The narrator (Abu an-Nadr) said: "I do not know whether he said forty days, forty months, or forty years."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابوجہیم رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”اگر نماز پڑھنے والے کے سامنے سے گزرنے والا یہ جان لیتا کہ اس پر کس قدر گناہ ہے، تو بیشک اسے چالیس .... تک کھڑا رہنا بھلا معلوم ہوتا اس بات سے کہ اس کے سامنے سے نکل جائے۔“(ابونضر) راوی حدیث کہتے ہیں کہ میں نہیں جانتا کہ چالیس دن کہا یا چالیس مہینے یا چالیس برس۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 321]
