English Translation
Narrated Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) took hold of my shoulders and said: "Live in this world as though you were a stranger or a wayfarer passing along a road." And Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to say: "When it is morning, do not wait for the evening, and when it is evening, do not wait for the morning (and do whatever good deed you must do; perhaps the morning has come but the evening will not). And take from your health for your sickness, and from your life for your death."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے میرے کندھے پکڑ کر فرمایا:”دنیا اس طرح بسر کرو جیسے کوئی پردیسی ہو یا راہ چلتا مسافر۔“اور سیدنا ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے تھے کہ جب صبح ہو تو شام کے منتظر مت رہو اور شام ہو تو صبح کے منتظر نہ ہو (اور جو نیک کام کرنا ہے وہ کر لو۔ شاید صبح آئی ہے تو شام نہ آئے) اور اپنی صحت میں بیماری کا سامان تیار کر لے اور زندگی میں موت کا کچھ سامان تیار کر لے۔“[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 2092]
