English Translation
Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), on the day of Eid al-Adha, first led the prayer, then delivered the sermon to the people and said, "O people! The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) forbade fasting on these two days of Eid: the first Eid is the day of breaking your fasts, and (the second) is the day of eating the meat of your sacrifices."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ نےعیدالاضحی کے دن پہلے نماز پڑھائی پھر لوگوں کو خطبہ سنایا اور کہا کہ اے لوگو! رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ان دو عید کے دنوں میں روزہ رکھنے سے منع فرمایا ہے، پہلی عید تو تمہارے روزوں کے افطار کا دن ہے اور (دوسری) تمہاری قربانی کے گوشت کھانے کا دن۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1929]
