English Translation
Adi ibn Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I asked the Prophet (peace be upon him) about game that dies from being struck by the shaft of an arrow. He (peace be upon him) said, 'Whatever (animal) is struck by the edge (of the arrow), eat it, and whatever is struck by the broadside, that is like something killed by a blow.' And I asked about the game caught by a (hunting) dog, so he (peace be upon him) said, '(If the dog does not eat any of it) and holds it back for you, then eat it, (for) such a dog's catching is in the ruling of slaughter. And if you see, along with your dog or dogs, another person's dog too, and you suspect that our dog together with the other caught and killed the game, then do not eat it, because you pronounced Bismillah only when releasing your own dog, not over others' dogs.'"
Urdu Translation
سیدنا عدی بن حاتم رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہمیں نے نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے اس شکار کی بابت دریافت کیا جو تیر کی ڈنڈی لگ کر مر جائے تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”جس (جانور) کو تیر دھار کی طرف سے لگے اس کو کھا لینا اور جس کے چوڑائی کی طرف سے لگ جائے، وہ لاٹھیوں سے مارے ہوئے کی مثل ہے۔“اور میں نے کتے کے (مارے ہوئے) شکار کے بارے بھی دریافت کیا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”(اگر کتا خود نہ کھائے) اور تمہارے لیے روک رکھے تو کھا لینا (کیونکہ) ایسے کتے کا پکڑ لینا ذبح کے حکم میں ہے اور اگر اپنے کتے یا کتوں کے ساتھ کسی اور کا کتا بھی دیکھو اور یہ گمان ہو کہ ہمارے کتے نے دوسرے کے ساتھ مل کر شکار پکڑ کر مار ڈالا ہے تو اس کو نہ کھانا کیونکہ تم نے اپنے ہی کتے کے چھوڑنے پر بسم اللہ پڑھی تھی دوسروں کے کتوں پر نہیں پڑھی۔“[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1915]
