English Translation
Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "When al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) married me, he had no wealth, no land, no male or female slaves, and nothing except a camel for carrying water and a horse. I used to graze his horse and give it water, mend his water-bucket, and knead the flour. I did not know how to bake bread, so my Ansari neighbor women would bake my bread; they were very good women. And I used to carry date-stones on my head from the land that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) had given al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him), and that place was two miles away from me. One day I was coming with the stones on my head when I met the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). Some Companions were with him (peace be upon him). He (peace be upon him) called me, then made the camel kneel ('ikh, 'ikh) to make me ride behind him. I felt shy to walk with the men, and I remembered al-Zubayr's (may Allah be pleased with him) jealousy, for he was very jealous. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) realized that Asma felt shy, and he (peace be upon him) went on. I came to al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, 'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) met me while I had a load of stones on my head, and the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) were with him. He (peace be upon him) halted the camel to make me ride, but I felt shy of it, and I know your jealousy.' He said, 'By Allah! Your carrying the stones on your head is more distressing to me than your riding with him (peace be upon him).' Afterward Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) sent me a servant who took charge of the horse, and it was as if he had set me free."

سیدہ اسماء بنت ابی بکر رضی اللہ عنہا فرماتی ہیں کہجب مجھ سے زبیر رضی اللہ عنہ نے نکاح کیا تو ان کے پاس کچھ مال نہ تھا نہ زمین تھی نہ لونڈی غلام تھے اور بجز پانی لانے والے اونٹ اور گھوڑے وغیرہ کے کچھ نہ تھا۔ میں ان کے گھوڑے کو چراتی تھی اور پانی پلاتی تھی اور ان کا ڈول سیتی تھی اور آٹا گوندھتی تھی اور میں روٹی پکانا نہ جانتی تھی اور میری روٹی انصاری پڑوسنیں پکا دیتی تھیں، وہ بڑی نیک بخت عورتیں تھیں اور میں زبیر رضی اللہ عنہ کی اس زمین سے جو رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے انھیں دی تھی اپنے سر پر کھجوروں کی گٹھلیاں اٹھا کر لاتی تھی اور وہ جگہ مجھ سے دو میل دور تھی۔ ایک روز میں اپنے سر پر گٹھلیاں رکھے آ رہی تھی کہ مجھے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمملے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ہمراہ چند اصحاب تھے، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے مجھے پکارا، پھر مجھے اپنے پیچھے بٹھانے کے واسطے اونٹ کو اخ اخ کہا۔ مجھے مردوں کے ساتھ چلنے میں شرم آئی اور زبیر رضی اللہ عنہ کی غیرت مجھے یاد آئی کہ بڑے غیرت دار ہیں۔ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمپہچان گئے کہ اسماء کو شرم آتی ہے اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمچل دیے میں نے زبیر رضی اللہ عنہ سے آ کر کہا کہ مجھے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمملے تھے۔ میرے سر پر گٹھلیاں کا بوجھ تھا اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ہمراہ صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہم تھے، آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے مجھے بٹھانے کے واسطے اونٹ کو ٹھہرایا، مجھے اس سے شرم آئی اور تمہاری غیرت کو میں جانتی ہوں، وہ بولے”واللہ! مجھے تیرے سر پر گٹھلیاں لاتے ہوئے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکا دیکھنا آپ کے ساتھ سوار ہو جانے سے زیادہ ناگوار ہوا۔ بعدازاں سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے میرے لیے ایک خادم بھیج دیا، وہ گھوڑے کی نگہبانی کرنے لگایا گویا کہ انھوں نے مجھے آزاد کر دیا۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1865]
