English Translation
It is narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said, "If I wished, I could say that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said it." But Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said that it is the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him) that when a person marries a virgin while already married to a previously married woman (widow or divorcee), he should stay with her (the virgin) for seven days (then take turns), and when he marries a previously married woman while already having a virgin (wife), he should stay with her for three days (then take turns).
Urdu Translation
سیدنا انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے، انھوں نے فرمایا کہاگر میں چاہوں تو کہہ سکتا ہوں کہ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا، مگر انس رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا کہ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی یہ سنت ہے کہ جب کوئی شخص بیوہ عورت پر کنواری سے نکاح کرے تو اس کے پاس سات دن رہے (پھر باری باری سے رہے) اور جب کسی کنواری کی موجودگی میں بیوہ عورت سے نکاح کرے تو اس کے پاس تین دن رہے (پھر باری باری سے رہے)۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1863]
