English Translation
Narrated Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to his Companions (by way of a rhetorical question), "Is it difficult for any one of you to recite a third of the Qur'an in a night?" This seemed hard to them (the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them), and they said, "O Messenger of Allah! Which of us has the strength for that?" So he (peace be upon him) said, "Surah al-Ikhlas, in which the attributes of 'Allah, the One, the Self-Sufficient' are mentioned, is (equal to) a third of the Qur'an."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ ہی سے روایت ہے کہنبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اپنے اصحاب سے (بطور استفہام انکاری) کہا کہ کیا یہ مشکل ہے کہ تم میں سے کوئی شخص ایک رات میں تہائی قرآن پڑھے؟ ان (صحابہ رضی اللہ عنہم) کو یہ دشوار معلوم ہوا اور کہنے لگے کہ یا رسول اللہ! ہم میں سے کس کو اتنی طاقت حاصل ہے؟ تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”سورۃ الاخلاص جس میں”اللہ واحد صمد“کی صفات مذکور ہیں، تہائی قرآن (کے برابر) ہے۔“[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1813]
