English Translation
Narrated Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him): On the day of the Battle of the Trench, we were digging when we encountered very hard ground. The Companions went to the Prophet and said: "O Messenger of Allah! Very hard rock has appeared in the trench." He said: "I will come down and remove it myself." He came while stones were tied to his stomach due to hunger — we had gone three days without eating. The Prophet struck the rock with his pickaxe, and it crumbled into fine sand.
Urdu Translation
سیدنا جابر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہہم خندق کے دن (غزوہ خندق) زمین کھود رہے تھے کہ اتفاقاً ایک زمین سخت نکل آئی۔ سب نے نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے جا کر عرض کی یا رسول اللہ! ایک بہت سخت زمین خندق میں درپیش آ گئی ہے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”میں خود آ کر اسے دور کر دیتا ہوں۔“پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمچلے اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پیٹ سے پتھر بندھے ہوئے تھے۔ تین روز تک ہم بھوکے پیاسے ہی رہے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے آ کر زمین پر کدال ماری۔ کدال مارتے ہی وہ زمین نرم ہو گئی۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1626]
