English Translation
Jubayr ibn Mut'im (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Uthman ibn Affan and I went to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and said: "You gave (a share of the spoils) to Banu al-Muttalib, but not to us, even though we and they are of the same degree of kinship to you." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "That is true, but Banu Hashim and Banu al-Muttalib have always been one and have never been separated." And the Prophet interlocked his fingers.
Urdu Translation
سیدنا جبیر بن مطعم رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہمیں اور سیدنا عثمان بن عفان رضی اللہ عنہ رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس گئے اور عرض کی کہ آپ نے (ذی القربیٰ کا حصہ) بنی مطلب کو دیا اور ہم (بنی امیہ) اور بنی مطلب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے ایک ہی رشتہ رکھتے ہیں۔ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”یہ (تو صحیح ہے) مگر بنی ہاشم اور بنی مطلب ہمیشہ ایک ہی رہے۔“[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1460]
