English Translation
Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) about the plague. He said: "The plague is a punishment that Allah sends upon whomever He wills, but Allah has made it a mercy for the believers. When a plague breaks out and a Muslim remains in his land patiently, seeking Allah's reward, knowing that nothing will befall him except what Allah has decreed — he will receive the reward of a martyr."
Urdu Translation
ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہمیں نے رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے طاعون کے بارے میں پوچھا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”طاعون ایک عذاب ہے، اللہ تعالیٰ جن پر چاہتا ہے یہ عذاب بھیجتا ہے اور اللہ نے اس کو مسلمانوں کے لیے رحمت بنا دیا ہے، جب کہیں طاعون پھیلے اور مسلمان صبر کر کے ثواب کی نیت سے اپنی ہی بستی میں ٹھہرا رہے (بھاگے نہیں) اس کا یہ اعتقاد ہو کہ اللہ نے جو مصیبت قسمت میں لکھ دی ہے وہی پیش آئے گی تو اس کو شہید کا ثواب ملے گا۔“[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1452]
