Arabic (Original)
وَقَالَ لَنَا آدَمُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، قَالَ كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يُصَلِّي فِي مَكَانِهِ الَّذِي صَلَّى فِيهِ الْفَرِيضَةَ. وَفَعَلَهُ الْقَاسِمُ. وَيُذْكَرُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَفَعَهُ لاَ يَتَطَوَّعُ الإِمَامُ فِي مَكَانِهِ. وَلَمْ يَصِحَّ.
English Translation
Hadrat Nafi' (upon him be mercy) narrates that Hadrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both) would offer voluntary prayer in the same place where he had prayed the obligatory prayer. Al-Qasim (upon him be mercy) also used to do the same. And Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrates as a Marfu' report: 'The Imam should not offer voluntary prayer in the same place (where he led the obligatory prayer).'
Urdu Translation
حضرت نافع رحمۃ اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ سے روایت ہے کہ حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما اسی جگہ نفل نماز پڑھتے جہاں فرض پڑھتے تھے۔ قاسم رحمۃ اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ بھی ایسا ہی کرتے تھے۔ اور حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ مرفوعاً بیان فرماتے ہیں: امام اسی جگہ نفل نماز نہ پڑھے (جہاں فرض پڑھائی)۔
