Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ قَرَأَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِيمَا أُمِرَ، وَسَكَتَ فِيمَا أُمِرَ {وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيًّا} {لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ}.
English Translation
Hadrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) recited aloud where he was commanded to and recited silently where he was commanded to. (He stated:) 'And your Lord is not forgetful' and 'Indeed, in the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) you have an excellent example.'
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے جہاں بلند آواز سے پڑھنے کا حکم تھا وہاں بلند آواز سے پڑھا اور جہاں آہستہ پڑھنے کا حکم تھا وہاں آہستہ پڑھا۔ (فرمایا:) «وما كان ربك نسيا» (تمہارا رب بھولنے والا نہیں) اور «لقد كان لكم في رسول الله أسوة حسنة» (تمہارے لیے رسول اللہ میں بہترین نمونہ ہے)۔
