It is narrated from Hadrat 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with them both) that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) declared on the day of the Conquest of Makkah: There is no migration (from Makkah) now, but there remains Jihad and sincere intention. When you are called to march forth (for Jihad), then march forth at once. He also declared on the day of the Conquest of Makkah: Indeed, Allah made this city sacred on the day He created the heavens and the earth. It is sacred by the sanctity of Allah until the Day of Resurrection. Fighting therein was not made lawful for anyone before me, and it was made lawful for me only for an hour of the day. It is sacred by the sanctity of Allah until the Day of Resurrection. Its thorny bushes shall not be cut, its game shall not be startled, its lost property shall not be picked up except by one who announces it (seeking its owner), and its green herbage shall not be uprooted. Hadrat al-'Abbas (may Allah be well pleased with him) submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! Except the Idhkhir (a type of grass), for it is needed by our goldsmiths and for our houses. The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) declared: Except the Idhkhir.
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فتح مکہ کے دن ارشاد فرمایا: اب (مکہ سے) ہجرت باقی نہیں رہی، البتہ جہاد اور نیت باقی ہے، اور جب تمہیں جہاد کے لیے بلایا جائے تو فوراً نکل پڑو۔ اور آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فتح مکہ کے دن یہ بھی ارشاد فرمایا: اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس شہر (مکہ) کو اس دن سے حرمت والا بنایا ہے جس دن آسمان و زمین پیدا کیے، لہٰذا یہ اللہ کی حرمت کے ساتھ قیامت تک حرام ہے۔ مجھ سے پہلے کسی کے لیے بھی اس میں لڑنا حلال نہیں کیا گیا، اور میرے لیے بھی صرف دن کی ایک گھڑی کے لیے حلال ہوا۔ لہٰذا یہ اللہ کی حرمت کے ساتھ قیامت تک حرام ہے۔ نہ اس کا کانٹا توڑا جائے، نہ اس کا شکار بھگایا جائے، نہ اس کی گری ہوئی چیز اٹھائے مگر وہ شخص جو (مالک تلاش کرنے کے لیے) اعلان کرے، اور نہ اس کی سبز گھاس کاٹی جائے۔ حضرت عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! اذخر کے سوا (یہ ہمارے سناروں اور گھروں کے لیے ضروری ہے)۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: اذخر کے سوا (اس کی اجازت ہے)۔
