حَدَّثَنَا أَصْبَغُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ زُهْرَةَ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ ـ وَكَانَ قَدْ أَدْرَكَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ وَذَهَبَتْ بِهِ أُمُّهُ زَيْنَبُ بِنْتُ حُمَيْدٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ بَايِعْهُ. فَقَالَ " هُوَ صَغِيرٌ ". فَمَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ وَدَعَا لَهُ. وَعَنْ زُهْرَةَ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَخْرُجُ بِهِ جَدُّهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ هِشَامٍ إِلَى السُّوقِ فَيَشْتَرِي الطَّعَامَ فَيَلْقَاهُ ابْنُ عُمَرَ وَابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ ـ رضى الله عنهم ـ فَيَقُولاَنِ لَهُ أَشْرِكْنَا، فَإِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَدْ دَعَا لَكَ بِالْبَرَكَةِ فَيَشْرَكُهُمْ، فَرُبَّمَا أَصَابَ الرَّاحِلَةَ كَمَا هِيَ، فَيَبْعَثُ بِهَا إِلَى الْمَنْزِلِ.
English Translation
It is narrated regarding Hadrat Abdullah bin Hisham (may Allah be well pleased with him) - who was a Companion of the Messenger - that his mother Hadrat Zainab bint Humaid brought him to the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and submitted: 'O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! Take the pledge of allegiance from him.' He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'He is still young.' Then he (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) passed his blessed hand over his head and supplicated for blessings upon him. Zuhra bin Ma'bad narrates that his grandfather Hadrat Abdullah bin Hisham used to take him to the market to buy grain. Hadrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both) and Hadrat Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be well pleased with them both) would meet him and say: 'Make us your partners, for the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) supplicated for blessings upon you.' So he would make them his partners. Sometimes the profit would amount to a full camel-load, which he would send home.
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ بن ہشام رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے — جو صحابیِ رسول تھے — کہ ان کی والدہ حضرت زینب بنت حمید انہیں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی خدمت میں لے کر حاضر ہوئیں اور عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! ان سے بیعت لے لیجیے۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: ابھی یہ چھوٹا ہے۔ پھر آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ان کے سر پر دستِ مبارک پھیرا اور ان کے لیے دعائے برکت فرمائی۔ زہرہ بن معبد سے روایت ہے کہ ان کے دادا حضرت عبداللہ بن ہشام انہیں بازار لے جاتے اور غلہ خریدتے۔ حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما اور حضرت عبداللہ بن حضرت زبیر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما ان سے ملتے تو فرماتے: ہمیں بھی اپنا شریک بنا لو، کیونکہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے تمہارے لیے برکت کی دعا فرمائی ہے۔ چنانچہ وہ انہیں شریک بنا لیتے۔ بسا اوقات پورے اونٹ کا بوجھ نفع ہو جاتا اور وہ اسے گھر بھجوا دیتے۔
