Hadrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both) narrates that a man stood up and asked: 'O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)! What garments may we wear in the state of Ihram?' The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: 'Do not wear a shirt, trousers, turban, or hooded cloak (burnus). However, if someone does not have sandals, he may wear leather socks but should cut them below the ankles. And do not wear any garment that has been touched by saffron or Wars (a fragrant dye). A woman in Ihram should not wear a face-veil (niqab) nor gloves.' Musa bin Uqbah, Isma'il bin Ibrahim bin Uqbah, Juwairiyyah, and Ibn Ishaq corroborated Laith regarding the mention of the veil and gloves. Ubaidullah (upon him be mercy) narrated the words 'nor Wars' and used to say: 'A woman in Ihram should not wear a face-veil nor gloves.' Imam Malik (upon him be mercy) narrated from Nafi', from Hadrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be well pleased with them both): 'A woman in Ihram should not wear a face-veil.' Laith bin Abi Sulaim corroborated this.

حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ ایک شخص نے کھڑے ہو کر پوچھا: یا رسول اللہ! احرام کی حالت میں ہمیں کون سے کپڑے پہننے کی اجازت ہے؟ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: نہ قمیص پہنو، نہ پاجامہ، نہ عمامہ اور نہ برنس (ٹوپی والا لباس)۔ البتہ اگر کسی کے پاس جوتے نہ ہوں تو وہ موزے پہن لے اور انہیں ٹخنوں سے نیچے کاٹ لے۔ اور کوئی ایسا کپڑا نہ پہنو جس میں زعفران یا ورس (خوشبودار رنگ) لگا ہو۔ احرام کی حالت میں عورت نقاب نہ ڈالے اور نہ دستانے پہنے۔ لیث کے ساتھ نقاب اور دستانوں کے ذکر میں موسیٰ بن عقبہ، اسماعیل بن ابراہیم بن عقبہ، جویریہ اور ابن اسحاق نے متابعت کی ہے۔ عبیداللہ رحمۃ اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ نے «ولا ورس» کا لفظ بیان کیا اور فرماتے تھے: محرم عورت نقاب نہ ڈالے اور نہ دستانے پہنے۔ امام مالک رحمۃ اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ نے نافع سے، انہوں نے حضرت ابن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہما سے روایت کیا کہ محرم عورت نقاب نہ ڈالے، اور لیث بن ابی سلیم نے اس کی متابعت کی ہے۔
