Arabic (Original)
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ أَبُو النَّضْرِ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَإِنْ كُنْتُ مُسْتَيْقِظَةً حَدَّثَنِي وَإِلاَّ اضْطَجَعَ. قُلْتُ لِسُفْيَانَ فَإِنَّ بَعْضَهُمْ يَرْوِيهِ رَكْعَتَىِ الْفَجْرِ. قَالَ سُفْيَانُ هُوَ ذَاكَ.
English Translation
It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'minin Hadrat Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be well pleased with her) who said: When the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) had offered the two rak'at (Sunnah of Fajr), if I was awake, he would converse with me; otherwise he would lie down. I said to Sufyan: Some narrators describe them as the two rak'at of Fajr. Sufyan replied: Yes, that is what they are.
Urdu Translation
حضرت اُمّ المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا فرماتی ہیں کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم جب (فجر کی) دو رکعتیں (سنت) پڑھ لیتے تو اگر میں جاگ رہی ہوتی تو مجھ سے باتیں فرماتے، ورنہ لیٹ جاتے۔ میں نے سفیان سے عرض کیا: بعض راوی اسے فجر کی دو رکعتیں بتاتے ہیں۔ سفیان نے فرمایا: ہاں وہی ہیں۔
