اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَرْبَعٌ لا يدعهن الناس من أمر الجاهلية التطاعن في الأنساب والنياحة وقولهم سقينا بنوء كذا وكذاوأحسب أن عمر حدثناه أيضا عن عَبْد الرَّحْمن عن الثوري اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَرْبَعٌ لا يدعهن الناس من أمر الجاهلية التطاعن في الأنساب والنياحة وقولهم سقينا بنوء كذا وكذاوأحسب أن عمر حدثناه أيضا عن عَبْد الرَّحْمن عن الثوري
English Translation
[The Prophet] (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Four things people will not abandon from the pre-Islamic era: disparaging lineages, wailing over the dead, and their saying 'we were given rain by such-and-such star.'" I think that Umar also narrated it to us from Abd ar-Rahman from ath-Thawri.
