وحَدَّثَنا طليق بن مُحَمَّد الواسطيّ حَدَّثَنا يزيد بن هارون أَخْبَرنَا شعبة عَنْ قَتَادةَ عن أبي عمر الغداني عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِنَحْوِهِوَلا نعلم روى أبو عمر الغداني عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ إلا هذا الحديث ولا نعلم حدث عنه إلا قتادة وقد رواه غير واحد عَنْ قَتَادةَ فاقتصرنا على من سمعنا ورُوِيَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ من حديث سهيل عن أبيه عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ وعن عاصم عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ نحو منها وَرُوِيَ من حديث أبي الزبير عن جابر عبد الله بن رباح عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِنَحْوِهِوَلا نعلم روى أبو عمر الغداني عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ إلا هذا الحديث ولا نعلم حدث عنه إلا قتادة وقد رواه غير واحد عَنْ قَتَادةَ فاقتصرنا على من سمعنا ورُوِيَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ من حديث سهيل عن أبيه عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ وعن عاصم عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ نحو منها وَرُوِيَ من حديث أبي الزبير عن جابر عبد الله بن رباح
English Translation
Ibrahim narrated to us, Musa narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us from Muhammad ibn Amr from Abu Salamah from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) who stated: The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: "A man once said: I will surely give charity! So he went out with his charity and placed it in the hand of a thief. In the morning, people were talking: A thief has received charity! He said: O Allah, to You is all praise — [I gave to] a thief! I will surely give charity again. He went out and placed it in the hand of a prostitute. In the morning: A prostitute has received charity! He said: O Allah, to You is all praise — [I gave to] a prostitute! I will surely give charity again. He went out and placed it in the hand of a rich man. In the morning: A rich man has received charity! He said: O Allah, to You is all praise — a thief, a prostitute, and a rich man! It was said to him: As for the thief, perhaps he will abstain from theft; as for the prostitute, perhaps she will abstain from prostitution; and as for the rich man, perhaps he will take a lesson and spend from what Allah has given him."
