حَدَّثَنا إبراهيم حَدَّثَنا موسى بن إسماعيل حَدَّثَنا حماد يعني ابن سلمة عن بشر بن حرب عن أبي هريرة رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أن رجلين أتيا رسول الله صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يسألانه فقال اذهبا إلى هذه الشعوب فاحتطبا فتبيعا فذهبا فاحتطبا ثم جاءا فباعا فأصابا طعاما ثم ذهب فاحتطبا أيضا فجاءا فلم يزلا حتى ابتاعا ثوبين ثم ابتاعا حمارين فقالا قد بارك الله لنا في أَمْرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سليمان بن حيان عن أبيه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يسألانه فقال اذهبا إلى هذه الشعوب فاحتطبا فتبيعا فذهبا فاحتطبا ثم جاءا فباعا فأصابا طعاما ثم ذهب فاحتطبا أيضا فجاءا فلم يزلا حتى ابتاعا ثوبين ثم ابتاعا حمارين فقالا قد بارك الله لنا في أَمْرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سليمان بن حيان عن أبيه
English Translation
Ibrahim narrated to us, Musa ibn Isma'il narrated to us, Hammad — meaning Ibn Salamah — narrated to us from Bishr ibn Harb from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) that two men came to the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) asking [for charity]. He said: "Go to those mountain passes and gather firewood, then sell it." So they went and gathered firewood, then came and sold it and obtained food. Then they went and gathered firewood again and came and continued until they bought two garments, then bought two donkeys. They said: Allah has blessed us through the command of the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). [Through] Sulayman ibn Hayyan from his father.
