حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ شَبُّوَيْهِ المروزي حَدَّثَنا علي بن الحسن بن شقيق حدثنا الحسين بن واقد عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ أن رجلا قال يا رسول الله دلني على عمل أدخل به الجنة قال لا تغضب قال وأتاه آخر فقال متي أعلم أني محسن قال إذا قال جيرانك أنك محسن فإنك محسن وإذا قالوا إنك مسيء فإنك مسيءوَهَذَا الحديثُ لاَ نَعْلَمُ رَوَاهُ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ إلا الحسين بن واقد
English Translation
Abdullah ibn Ahmad ibn Shabuyah al-Marwazi narrated to us, Ali ibn al-Hasan ibn Shaqiq narrated to us, al-Husain ibn Waqid narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) that a man said: O Messenger of Allah, guide me to a deed by which I may enter Paradise. He stated: «Do not get angry.» He said: And another came and asked: When do I know that I am doing well? He stated: «If your neighbors say you are doing well, then you are doing well. And if they say you are doing badly, then you are doing badly.» This hadith — we do not know that anyone narrated it from al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) except al-Husain ibn Waqid.
