وحَدَّثَنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَال حَدَّثنا سلم بن قُتَيبة قَال حَدَّثنا الحسن بن علي عن عَبد الرحمن الأَعرَج عَن أبي هُرَيرة قَالَ قَالَ رَسُول اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم أوصاني جبريل عليه السلام فقال إذا توضأت انتضحوَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لاَ نعلمُهُ يُرْوَى عَن أَبِي هُرَيرة إلاَّ بهذا الإسناد اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم أوصاني جبريل عليه السلام فقال إذا توضأت انتضحوَهَذَا الْحَدِيثُ لاَ نعلمُهُ يُرْوَى عَن أَبِي هُرَيرة إلاَّ بهذا الإسناد
English Translation
Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna narrated to us, he said: Salm ibn Qutaybah narrated to us, he said: al-Hasan ibn Ali narrated to us from Abd al-Rahman al-A'raj from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) who said: The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: «Jibril (peace be upon him) counseled me, saying: When you perform ablution, sprinkle water.» This hadith -- we do not know it to be narrated from Abu Hurairah except through this chain.
