حَدَّثَنا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَال حَدَّثنا يحيى بن سَعِيد قَال حَدَّثنا ابن عَجْلان عَن سَعِيد عَن أبي هُرَيرة أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم قال إذا انتهى أحدكم إلى المجلس فليسلم فإذا أراد أن يقوم فليسلم فليست الأولى بأحق من الآخرة اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم قال إذا انتهى أحدكم إلى المجلس فليسلم فإذا أراد أن يقوم فليسلم فليست الأولى بأحق من الآخرة
English Translation
Amr ibn Ali narrated to us saying: Yahya ibn Said narrated to us from Sufyan from al-A'mash from Abu Salih from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) who said: «Two will not be answered: when a man says 'O Allah, forgive me if You will,' and when a man says 'O Allah, give me provision if You will.' Let him be resolute in his supplication, for Allah does what He wills and there is no one to compel Him.»
