وحَدَّثَنا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَال حَدَّثنا صفوان بن عيسى قَال حَدَّثنا مُحَمد بن عَجْلان عَن أَبِيه عَن أبي هُرَيرة أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم قال ذروني ما تركتم فإنما هلك من كان قبلكم بسؤالهم واختلافهم على أنبيائهم ما نهيتكم عنه فانتهوا وما أمرتكم به فخذوا منه ما استطعتم اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم قال ذروني ما تركتم فإنما هلك من كان قبلكم بسؤالهم واختلافهم على أنبيائهم ما نهيتكم عنه فانتهوا وما أمرتكم به فخذوا منه ما استطعتم
English Translation
And Amr ibn Ali narrated to us, saying: Safwan ibn Isa narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Ajlan narrated to us from his father from Hadrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with him) that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "Leave me with what I have left you, for those before you were destroyed by their excessive questioning and their disagreement with their Prophets. Whatever I forbid you from, abstain from it; and whatever I command you with, do as much of it as you can."
