وحَدَّثنا به مُحَمد بن عَبد الملك القرشي قَال حَدَّثنا أَبُو عَوَانة عَن أبي إسحاق عَن الأغر عَن أبي مسلم قال أشهد على أبي سَعِيد وأبي هُرَيرة أنهما شهدا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم أَنَّه قال إن الله تبارك وتعالى يمهل حتى إذا ذهب أو بقى ثلث الليل هبط فقال هل من داع يستجاب له أَحسَبُهُ قال هل من سائل يعطى ـ من مستغفر من ذنب سَعِيد وأبي هُرَيرة أنهما شهدا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيه وَسَلَّم أَنَّه قال إن الله تبارك وتعالى يمهل حتى إذا ذهب أو بقى ثلث الليل هبط فقال هل من داع يستجاب له أَحسَبُهُ قال هل من سائل يعطى ـ من مستغفر من ذنب
English Translation
And Muhammad ibn Abd al-Malik al-Qurashi narrated it to us, saying: Abu Awanah narrated to us from Abu Ishaq from al-Agharr from Abu Muslim who said: I bear witness upon Abu Said and Abu Hurairah (may Allah be well pleased with them) that they bore witness upon the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) that he stated: "Indeed, Allah, Blessed and Exalted, waits until when a third of the night has passed — or remains — He descends and says: 'Is there anyone calling that he may be answered?'" — I believe he said — "'Is there anyone asking that he may be given? Is there anyone seeking forgiveness from sin?'"
